Nan Breakfast Pizza

Breakfast pizza is a delicious way to start your day. If you haven’t tried it before, you’re in for a surprise! It’s like a regular pizza but with a runny egg and lots of toppings. I love making it on weekends for brunch.

Using Nan bread is super easy. You don’t need to make pizza dough. Just buy Nan bread, add your toppings, and bake! It takes only 8 minutes to bake and a few minutes to prepare. With all the toppings, it’s really tasty.

Ingredients

  1. Nan bread
  2. Your favorite pizza sauce
  3. Cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a combination)
  4. Your choice of toppings (bacon, sausage, eggs, vegetables, etc.)

How to Make Nan Breakfast Pizzas

First, preheat oven to 450F. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper and arrange Nan breads on top.

Line the mozzarella cheese around the bread, leaving an opening in the center for the egg. Create a “wall” with the cheese to prevent the egg whites from spilling out. Crack the egg and carefully place in the center.

Sprinkle over top with parmesan cheese and everything bagel seasoning. Then bake uncovered for 8 minutes, broil on HIGH for 30 additional seconds to brown the cheese. Egg should be slightly runny.

Tips

Avoid a runny egg mess

In a couple of recipe tests, I noticed it was easy for the egg whites to escape the pizza and get all over the pan. To avoid this, create a “nest” with the cheese around the Nan bread. So when you crack the egg, it is kept in place and can’t run off the bread.

Different Nan breads to use

You can use white Nan or make it healthier and use whole wheat Nan. I’ve also found garlic flavored Nan at my local whole food which is just as tasty!

One egg per Nan

I try not to overload the Nan breads because if they are too packed, the egg whites usually run off and it can get pretty messy. Try to keep it one egg per Nan bread (depending on the size of course).

Extra toppings

You can also top this pizza with chopped cooked bacon, fresh salsa, fresh,

fresh chopped basil, dried oregano, red pepper flakes, and basil pesto.
